However, it has been remodelled multiple times over the years.

Today, the King’s Garden is a pleasure garden for everyone. The garden amazes with rich flower beds including a rose garden, large herbaceous borders, grass lawns, multiple sculptures and a playground for children. Making it the perfect getaway in the city during spring.

This may be unexpected but Copenhagen is famous for its beautiful cherry trees – located in a cemetery. The Bispebjerg Cemetery is actually the biggest cemetery in the country and one of the city’s most photographed sites in spring due to its alluring cherry blossom trees. The avenues of the cemetery are lined with cherry blossom or Sakura trees that dip the area in dreamy shades of pink.

Another great time to see the trees blossoming is the Sakura Festival, taking place at the end of April. The festival first took place in 2008, and aims at bringing together different cultures through Japan-related cultural events. The festival takes place in Langeliniepark, near the statue of the Little Mermaid.
